ENG 396: Advanced Composition

 

Dr. Gaughran 3 credits

          The course aims at fostering an appreciation for the non-fiction essay and at improving and strengthening the student’s writing skills and style, focusing on such issues as finding a “voice,” perceiving an audience, and conveying ideas in creative ways. Classes will involve informal discussion of professional essays as well as essays produced for the course. Students will also meet regularly with the instructor to discuss their own writing.
