Dr. Striebig specializes in environmental treatment system design and sustainable development. Dr. Striebig has ongoing projects in sustainable development in Benin, Kenya and Rwanda and the United States.

Education

  • BS in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1991
  • MS in Environmental Systems Engineering from the Clemson University in 1993
  • PhD in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1996

Experience

Prior to coming to JMU, Dr. Striebig was an associate professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Gonzaga University.  Dr. Striebig founded and advised the Gonzaga Engineers Without Borders Chapter. Dr Striebig also developed and directs the WATER (Water for Africa, Technology, Education and Reciprocity) Study Abroad Program, which is a joint program promoting education in sustainable development between James Madison University, Gonzaga University and the Songhai Center.  Prior to accepting the faculty position at Gonzaga, Dr. Striebig was the Head of the Environmental Technology Group at the Applied research Laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University.
