EMERITI  PERKS

Bill Wilson, Director of the Madison Institutes, has provided us with a listing of the 
perks which accrue to emeriti faculty. He reminds us that JMU provides 
many benefits. These are listed below: 

  
If your JAC card does not include the title emeriti/a, please 
have a new one made. 

·        JAC card

·        Emeriti parking (limited use)

·        Use of libraries

·        Use of recreational facilities

·        Access to dining services

·        Bookstore discounts

·        Discounted tickets to sports and cultural events

·        Name listed in catalog

·        On campus waiver of tuition

·        Email account and software downloads from the Computer Support

website using your EID and password

Through individual arrangements with your department head, these

WE PARTICIPATED IN THE MADISON CENTURY  

President Rose invited Faculty Emeriti to join him for the formal unveiling of our paving stones on March twelve, 5:00 to 6:00 pm. This was followed by a reception in Carrier Library. We enjoyed convenient reserved parking in Burruss and Miller parking lots.

WINE TASTING

Please contact Mary Lou Wylie <wylieml@jmu.edu> for information. The next
TASTING is scheduled for January 23, 4:00 to 6:30 PM at the Rooney's,
1060 South Dogwood. Send check payable to Mary Lou Wylie ($10/person) by
January 15. Each person should bring two (2) wine glasses for the
tasting.

EMERITI BREAKFAST GROUP 

This group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30 AM. Meetings are at the Courtyard Marriott. Contact Eileen Nelson <nelsones@jmu.edu> for particulars.

EMERITI  BOOK CLUB 

The read for January 2009 is Fareed Zakaria's The Post American World. The group will meet with Phil and Vicki Emmert on Wednesday, January 14, at 2:00 PM. A slate of books for future meetings MAY be agreed to at this meeting. Contact Rex Fuller for more details.

EMERITI  PLAY READING GROUP

This group is in the formative stage and will probably meet monthly. Esther
Minskoff and Tom Arthur will coordinate activities and plays to be read. Expect Esther to get things moving in January, 2009.
