The Madison Founders Society
A Special Way to Make A Difference. . .
The Madison Founders Society was established by James Madison University in 1982 to recognize alumni, parents and family of students, faculty, faculty emeriti, administration & staff, and other friends of the University who have provided for gifts to the University in their respective estate plans. These gifts may take advantage of one or more types of gift planning strategies. While the most common form of charitable estate plan gift may be a bequest included in an individual's Will, specific gifts in Revocable Living Trusts are becoming increasingly more popular.
Also, many donors use Life Income Gifts such as Charitable Trusts and Charitable Gift Annuities. Gifts of real estate, appreciated assets such as securities and mutual funds retirement funds, and even collectibles also are appropriate assets in structuring deferred and other planned gifts. Many of these types of gifts offer substantial financial and tax saving advantages, enabling charitable gift planning to complement an individual's overall financial and estate plans.
All such gifts are greatly appreciated by the University and help to ensure the tradition of excellence at Madison for future generations.
The members of The Madison Founders Society are invited throughout the year to a variety of special programs and gala events in the Shenandoah Valley area and across the country, sometimes in conjunction with alumni and athletic events.
We would be honored and appreciative if we may include you as a member of The Madison Founders Society. We welcome your call for more information. Our toll-free number is 800.296.6162.
