United Way

Harrisonburg, VA

Focus on Harrisonburg Community Development

Are you looking to get out of the JMU bubble, become more familiar with the issues affecting the Harrisonburg community, and to see what kind of service opportunities you are surrounded by? Join us for our local Thanksgiving trip which will address issues such as hunger and homelessness, disabilities, youth and education, the environment, and immigration. We will be working with a variety of local United Way agencies which are Meals-On-Wheels, Reading Roadshow (known by many as Gus Bus), the Our Community Place, Camp Still Meadows and the Grand Caverns. Our trip runs from Friday to Wednesday so you can even be home in time for Thanksgiving.

Trip leaders are Kristi Van Sickle and Danielle Longchamps.

This is a Thanksgiving Domestic-Driving Trip

Online registration for the lottery opens 9 AM, October 5 and closes at 4 PM, October 6.
Lottery is October 7, 8-10 PM, Transitions
