Alternative Break Program--> 2009-2010 Trip Descriptions

Cherokee Nation

Tahlequah, OK

Focus on Youth

Our JMU group will fly to Tahlequah, OK, to work with the Cherokee Nation Head Start program. We will split our time between aiding teachers in classrooms with young children and maintenance and cleaning up both the areas outside and inside the classrooms. This could include "campus beautification," such as: raking, picking up trash, or various projects within the classrooms. This a phenomenal opportunity for a unique cultural experience, without a passport! Participants can look forward to immersion in a lesser known element of American history and culture. Participants must have background check and TB test prior to trip.

Trip leaders are Emma Biron and Ryan Flanagan.

Total Cost: $743.00

This is a Domestic-Flying Trip
