PrerequisitesUndergraduates must be enrolled in SPA 470 or 471 for a scheduled

clinical assignment. Graduate students must be enrolled in SPA 570,

571, 670, or 671 in order to receive a scheduled clinical

assignment. Clinical assignments are made according to completion

of coursework considered necessary for a particular assignment,

according to the number of hours of practicum (1, 2, or 3) in which

the student enrolls, according to previous assignments/hours

reported, and in coordingation with off-campus assignments.

Administrative Relationship The Speech and Hearing Center is administered by the

to ProgramHead of the Speech Pathology and Audiology

Department and by the Direcotr of the Speech and

Hearing Ceneter, both tenured faculty within the

program. A Clinical Advisory Committee works with

the Director in recommending program changes.

Professional ActivitiesDirected observations in speech-language evaluations,

treatment sessions, and in audiiological evaluations,

and treatment sessions. Screeings in

speech-language-hearing. Audiological evaluations.

Hearing aid fitting, monitoring, and evaluations.

Speech-language treatment programs with individuals

and with small groups. Conferencing with clients,

client family members, and other professionals (e.g.

speech-language pathologists from the schools).

Interdisciplined referrals and evaluation conferences (

with the Child Development Clinic, with the Human

Development Center, and with the Reading Center).

Ubterdisciplined treatment (with the International
