Internship Appointment

The Predoctoral Psychology Internship in the CSDC is a full-time (40-42 hours per week), twelve-month position beginning August 3, 2009. Interns will need to document completion of at least 2,000 hours as a part of satisfactorily completing the internship program, at least one-fourth of which must be in direct service activities.

Stipend and Benefits*

  1. Interns will receive a stipend of $20,000 during the 2008-2009 internship year.
  2. Free University housing is provided for each intern in downtown Harrisonburg (studio apartment; utilities and cable included).
  3. Interns earn 10 days of paid leave time in addition to University holidays and sick days.
  4. Professional development leave (to attend professional conferences, workshops, and to do research) is granted on a case-by-case basis. Interns receive a $250.00 contribution toward approved professional development experiences.
  5. Each intern has his/her own office, which is equipped with a desk, computer, file cabinet, video and audio-taping equipment, DVD recording equipment, internet access, bookshelves, and optional decorative/practical materials such as pictures, clocks, lamps, plants, etc.
  6. Interns have staff access to a variety of JMU facilities, including the University Recreation Center and Carrier Library.
