668 OP01 - Practicum in School Administration
Course Description: The purpose of
this course is to provide administrative field experience and
support for Master's degree candidates in School
Administration. Candidates participate in an internship
during which they apply and integrate theoretical knowledge learned
in their course work with the practice of leadership and management

supervision of a practicing school administrator and university
professor to collaborate in the planned experience and to guide the
prospective administrator through demonstration of a wide range of
knowledge and skills at the building and district
level. The candidate should experience the full range
of duties, problems and issues encountered by an administrator so
he or she may synthesize and apply the knowledge and practice and
developed skills in a real work setting. Developmental and

basic concepts, definitions, and interconnections of each of these
four domains. Expected products of participants will include
plans for selecting and evaluating instructional materials inquiry
instruction in Earth science and practices appropriate to their
student audience; 2) Inquiry in the Earth Sciences:
Contemporary issues, recent advances and discoveries are part of
the learning experiences in this strand. Participants will
have the opportunity to enhance their experiences by engaging in
investigations of Earth science problems, application of field and
laboratory techniques in the Earth sciences, and articulating
inquiry-oriented instruction for Earth sciences classes.
Problems relevant to the interactions of Geology, Oceanography,
Meteorology, and Space sciences will be presented.
Participants will exit the Academy with a capacity to design and
