This one-day institute is designed to provide current and aspiring leaders with the skills and knowledge to meet today’s and tomorrow’s learners. The institute will focus on instructional coaching for leaders and best classroom instructional practices.
Dr. Scott Kizner is currently in his 13th year as a superintendent, currently leading the Harrisonburg City Public Schools. His experiences include teacher of children with disabilities, school psychologist, special education director and assistant superintendent of instruction. During his tenures as superintendent, he has led school systems to being recognized as high performing school districts and has successfully worked with others in closing the achievement gaps and raising the academic performance for all students.
Dr. Carol Fenn is Division Superintendent of Rockingham County Public Schools. Her education experiences in leadership include reading specialist, principalship, director of instruction, and assistant superintendent. She is proficient in participatory leadership, shared decision-making and the high performance work place in K-12 Virginia public schools.
