ADMINISTRATOR'S
OPTION
|
|
|
THE
ADMINISTRATOR'S OPTION ACADEMY is back this year in
a new format , beginning on Monday and
continuing through Tuesday, allowing participants to focus on
instructional leadership and maximizing instructional time. Two
sessions will be specifically designed for administrators and
conveniently scheduled to allow administrators freedom to attend
other CTA sessions of particular interest.
The two administrator sessions are titled:
Instructional Leadership: Strategies for Improving Math and
Reading through Cross-Curriculum Connections; and,
Maximizing Learning Time: Supporting Best Classroom Management
Practices with a School wide Discipline Plan. The first
session will enable administrators to enhance opportunities for
teachers to engage in cross-curriculum connections through
scheduling as well as instructional strategies. The second session
will outline an effective process for building a school wide
discipline plan, which maximizes student engagement in learning
while empowering teachers. This process has proven successful in
diminishing student discipline referrals by 90%, which means more
time for the administrator to be an instructional leader and more
time for students to be actively engaged in classroom learning
experiences. Presenters include James Madison University professors
and practicing teachers who developed and implemented this
successful process.
This academy
is limited to 25 participants
