THE ASOL
SPECIAL EDUCATION ACADEMY is new this year
and will focus on the content areas of
READING and MATHEMATICS for
teachers who teach students who are assessed with Virginia's
Aligned Standards of Learning (ASOL). The Academy sessions will
focus on how teachers can take general education content and adapt
it for students using new strategies, assistive technology, and
available resources to make learning interactive for
all students. Instructors for this Academy include
professionals with expertise in teaching students who are learning
and being assessed with the Virginia ASOL, as well as master
teachers who include students with severe disabilities into their
general education classroom instruction. Throughout the Academy,
teachers will have multiple opportunities to apply what they're
learning through make-it take sessions and round-table
discussions.
This
academy is limited to 100 participants
