Gibbons Dining Hall

Gibbons Dining Hall serves as the primary eating facility for conference guests, which offers an “all-you-care-to-eat” dining experience.  The dining hall provides a variety of menu items in a station style set-up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Each conference will be assigned a specific block of time during the dining hall’s regular operational hours, breakfast from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., lunch from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., and dinner from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  Special requests to extend the normal operation times will be presented to Dining Services for consideration and approval.

Some food options are as follows, a create-your-own salad bar, sandwich bar, pizza, pasta, desserts, and vegan/vegetarian options. Menus for each week are posted on the following website, under Fresh Foods Company Menu: http://www.jmu.edu/dining/menus.shtml, which details the specials food items for the week.

Meal Guarantee Form

A minimum meal guarantee form is must be filled out by the conference sponsor at least two weeks prior to the start date of the event.  Click on the link to access the form: Meal Guarantee

Meal Plans

In selecting the best meal plan for your group, we have two options for your conference attendees. Most groups use the Dining Card, which has the certain number of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner meals that you have ordered for your guests through the Meal Guarantee form.  The Dining Card also serves as the access card for participants to get into their designated dorm.

For those individuals that might be staying in a hotel or eating one or two meals on-campus, conference sponsors will be allotted a certain number of paper meal tickets, specified for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The Conference Assistant will track the number of cards you request.  Conference sponsors may return any unused meal tickets to their Conference Assistant, and will not be charged for any unused cards.
