Getting a web account

General information is available as well as information for students and faculty/staff.

General

  • Personal Web Sites

    Personal web sites are hosted on Educ(formerly Peregrin) (Linux system), please request using the Educ Account Request form.   You will receive information about your account and access within 2 business days. If you need Microsoft FrontPage Server extensions or ASP, hosting is available on http://people.jmu.edu a Microsoft Windows Active Directory Domain web server.

    For additional information about web publishing or to request a URL on people.jmu.edu, see the Information Publisher's Orientation and Access Request Form. You will receive information about your account and access within 2 business days.

Students

  • Student Organizations

    To obtain an account for publishing student organization web pages (orgs.jmu.edu), go to information about publishing Student Organizations.

Faculty & Staff

  • Department and Program Web Sites

    Departmental and Program web sites are hosted on the main JMU web site http://www.jmu.edu
    If you need a secure server for transmission of sensitive data, hosting is available on https://secureweb.jmu.edu
    If you need Microsoft FrontPage Server extensions or ASP, hosting is available on http://web.jmu.edu Microsoft Windows web server.
