Tutorial - Adding a Contact to your Address Book

Adding a Contact to Your Address Book.  There are two ways to add a contact to your address book.  The first, and easiest is from an e-mail message you have received.  Maximum number of Addresses in your address book are 1000.

If you would like to add the sender to your address book, click on Add to Address Book.  The following screen will appear.

Notice that  all the information from the e-mail section from: has been populated into the Add/Edit Contact screen.  Make any corrections necessary and click on add contactat the bottom of the screen. This person is added to your address book.

Note: Special characters are listed before A in the alphabet. Non-Latin characters are listed after Z in the alphabet. Contact's letters with accent are classified under the corresponding letter without the accent. Contacts whose name start with a non-ASCII character display under the heading Others; Japanese contacts appear under this link.

Default Sorting in you Address Book:
  • First Name: This is the first sort factor.
  • Last Name: This is the second sort factor.
  • Nickname: You can use a nickname or group name in the To, Cc and Bcc fields in place of an e-mail address. Click Expand to show the full e-mail address. This is the third sort factor.
  • Display Name: The default name display is First | Last.  This is the fourth sort factor.
  • E-mail address: This is the fifth sort factor.
Or, click on Address book in the navigational bar on the left of the screen. Click on the Add Contact button at the top left of the address book. add contactThe same screen will appear. Add the necessary information and click on done.add contact

Note that a new entry always has the category of Unfiled. More information can be found in the Adding/Editing Categories.
Once you have added a contact you can use them in many ways in e-mail.  Including using the nickname in the to line. Remember to separate multiple entries by using commas and spaces between names.
