Have you ever called the HelpDesk for assistance with an error on your computer, but forgot to write it down? Writing down long, painful error messages every time they come up can be annoying.
Copying the message is easy: when the error box appears, press Ctrl+C to copy the error. Open Notepad, Word, or another editor and press Ctrl+V to paste it.
With the error message in Notepad you can use parts of the error message to search in Google or send the exact message to the HelpDesk. This tip should work in Windows Vista and XP.
