ABOUT CLASS SPECIFIC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION REQUESTS

Class specific software should be renewed by the owner of the software.

KEY DEADLINES: 
April 18 - Last day to submit software requests for software to be installed for the summer sessions

July 4 - Last day to submit software requests for software to be installed for the beginning of the fall semester

August 4 - Software not renewed for the fall semester will be removed from the labs.

September 1 - Last day to submit software requests for software to be available in the lab by September 30 (for software not available for installation by the July deadline)

November 30 - Last day to submit software requests for software to be installed for the beginning of the spring semester
CLASS SPECIFIC INSTALLATION REQUEST PROCEDURES
New Install Requests Renew Software You Requested for Most Recent Prior Academic Year
  1. Review our software policy and requirements
  2. Contact your college coordinator
  3. Obtain trail version of software, test in lab, and troubleshoot
  4. Submit a software installation request form
  5. Purchase the software
  6. Wait for notification that the software is availble in the lab
  7. Test and troubleshoot in lab ASAP prior to date of need, and work with Lab Services to make necessary adjustments to the installation
You will receive an automated renewal notice in May to renew your software.

Check Status of Software Requested By Someone Else

JMU Applications and Mac Internet Applications are provided by the university.
These programs are automatically upgraded to their latest version each semester.
No action is required on your part.
