All Users:
- We strongly suggest that you try the
new web client Webmail
- Much quicker e-mail delivery - the
10 minute virus scanning delay has been removed

Quotas:
-
Faculty/Staff default quota is 50MB
-
Student default quota is 10 MB
- Automatic "junk mail" scanning--on
all messages flagged as SPAM will the subject line of the
message is preceded with "*POSSIBLE JUNKMAIL*:"

32 MB is the maximum message
size
-
2000 is the maximum number
of recipients for any message in MS Outlook
-
You will receive an e-mail
message when you are approaching maximum quota. The message that
puts you over quota will be delivered, not refused

By default, new mail is checked every 5 minutes

Maximum quota and current usage
- if you want to view these features, you must logon the Webmail client and go to the Options window

If you choose to share
any
of your folders (mailboxes) with anyone else at JMU, you must share
them in Webmail, but you can only view them in MS Outlook

Composing - Outlook Users:

When Composing a message and adding e-mail
names in the To:, Cc:, or Bcc: lines, e-mail names must
be separated by a comma (,) or a semicolon (;).

null@jmu.edu is still a working e-mail address at JMU.

Recipient List Hidden will
no longer be an option in the To: line on an incoming message.
You will see all the names included in the list. You can put
the list of names in the Bcc line and mail the message to
youre-id@jmu.edu or
null@jmu.edu.

Options - Outlook
Users:

Automatic Reply -- if you choose to use it, it must be set in
the Webmail Options screen

Forwarding
your mail - if you to forward your mail messages to
another account, it must be set in the Webmail Options screen

You can create Message
Filtering in the Webmail client which will be reflected in your
IMAP account.

You can identify a White
List in the Webmail client (those e-mails that you always want to receive
regardless of what other criteria they meet) which will be reflected
in your IMAP account.
