Deleting a Message Stored in an IMAP Folder

Deleting messages from an IMAP folder very similar to the process of deleting mail in Mulberry.  When deleting messages in an IMAP folder, the message must first be marked for deletion and then those messages marked for deletion must be purged from the IMAP server.

Exercise: How to Delete a Message Stored in an IMAP Folder

  1. Click the IMAP folder on the Outlook Bar or folder list.

  2. Select the message you want to delete.

  3. Click the Delete button on the Standard Toolbar or press the delete key on your keyboard.  Note the message looks similar to the way messages looked in Mulberry.

Note:  Even though you may have marked a message for deletion it has not been completely removed from the server.  To completely remove a deleted message from the IMAP server, one must purge the messages.  The next tutorial will cover this process.
