Disabling Personalized Menus and Toolbars

Some users prefer to have menus that offer the full range of options when opened and toolbars with the full complement of buttons. The personalized feature of the menus and toolbars may easily be turned off by choosing the Tools menu, then the Customize command, then the Options tab. The Options page in the Customize dialog box allows you to select menu and toolbar preferences. You can choose to separate the Standard and Formatting toolbars by disabling the option that displays both on one row. If you prefer to see full menus, you can disable the option to show recently used commands first.

The Standard and Formatting toolbars share one row option only affects the Office 2000 program in which it is changed. The Menus show recently used commands first option affects all Office 2000 programs.

To restore toolbars and menus to the default, either select the first two options on the Options tab or click Reset my usage data. This latter option will restore the menus and toolbars to their defaults.
