Student Administration System, e-campus Upgrade Scheduled to go live Tuesday, March 6 at 8am
Every few years the Student Administration (SA) System upgrades to a newer version to stay current with technology.
E-campus is the self-service portion of the system. Upgrade to the new version is scheduled to begin at 5pm, March
1st with go-live scheduled for 8am on March 6th.
Work has been on-going throughout 2006-2007 to prepare for the new version to include testing and reapplying JMU customizations
to the system.
Training is available through J-Ess. Current users: Course # IIS117. New users: Course # IIS115. Training for current users is
optional; training for new users continues to be required. Training for 8.9 new users will meet the requirements for SA 8
access (current system). If your office or department is interested in a demo or you have additional questions regarding
training, please contact ittraining@jmu.edu.
The administrative side of the system looks very similar to what is used today. However, e-campus looks very different. It is
more portal-like and easier to use. Feedback overall has been very positive on the "new" e-campus.
Some nice features include:
Ability to email within e-campus without having to copy & paste e-ID's into Web Mail
- Spell check is available when entering advisor notes
- Faculty can add their "favorite" websites to their Faculty Center page
- Advisee Roster is now a grid, allowing it to be sorted by clicking a header
- Class Roster has a Download button
- Grade Roster has a Download button
- Students have a single page from which to get to all their information
