Departmental Folders in Microsoft Outlook
Preventing users from deleting the departmental box
Warning!
NOTE: This self-help page will only provide assistance if using Microsoft Outlook.
Use caution while following these instructions so no folders are accidentally deleted!
- After subscribing to the departmental box go to the Tools menu and choose Options

- Click on the Other tab and then click on the Advanced Options... button in the new
Options window

- In the Advanced Options window uncheck the box next to Warn before permanently deleting items

- Click Ok twice to return to the main Outlook window
The ONLY warning message you will see is if you try to delete a folder, such as the departmental folder. The message will state "The items in this folder will also be deleted. Are you sure you want to delete the mailbox folder? " (see example below)
If this is a departmental mailbox folder or you are in doubt, click No!
