Editing Startup Programs

Removing items from startup can improve your computer's boot time and increase its performance.

Warning!
NOTE: Not all programs should be taken out of startup as this may negatively affect your computer.

• Open Spybot, click on the Mode menu and select Advanced Mode.
• Click Yes to the Warning popup.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Click on the Tools button in the bottom left corner.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Click on the System Startup icon.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• You now see a display of programs that start up along with Windows.
  
• You may want to maximize your screen to see all details.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Click on the box containing the blue triangles on the right side.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• This will give you information on whatever program you have selected.
  
• Note not all programs will have information provided.
  
  
  
  
  
  

Items checked will run when your computer starts up. Uncheck the box next to the items you do not wish to startup.
Remember to give us a call if you are uncertain if a program is needed or not.
Now exit Spybot and restart your PC.
