Administration and Finance Customer Service Award 2006

Each year, Charlie King, Senior Vice President of Administration and Finance, recognizes one person from nominations from all of the areas of the Division of Administration and Finance for their customer service. This year we are pleased to announce that Computing HelpDesk Analyst, Mohammad Sumbal, was the recipient of the Administration and Finance Customer Service Award for 2006. Here is just one example of the many compliments Charlie King has received about Mohammad's work:
"Very rarely do you find employees today who both understand and practice excellent customer service on a regular basis. Mohammad is one of those employees. I have been having problems recently synchronizing my PDA to the very outdated netscape calendar. From the moment I called Mohammad until the time he fixed the problem, he was the most patient, understanding and respectful employee- whose only concern was that my needs get met. I don't think he really knows how grateful I am for his help! I told him but please pass it on again. As a matter of fact, any time I've called your department with a need (whether it's Mohammad or another HD representative), I have always been pleased with the service. I truly am a satisfied customer!"

Drew Davis, Director of Computing Support wrote: "Mohammad has been a wonderful addition to the Computing Support staff. His positive disposition, "can do" attitude, and the genuine care he shows for his customers and co-workers serve as examples from which we can all learn and benefit. He is always willing to go above and beyond to provide quality service to our customers, even when it involves software and hardware with which he is not familiar. He seems to thrive on challenges and keeps at it until he finds a resolution or workaround that meets the customer's needs. I never mind receiving the numerous e-mails from customers indicating their high level of satisfaction with Mohammad's work!"
Debby Boyle, Computing HelpDesk Manager wrote: "Mohammad is a wonderful compliment to the Computing HelpDesk team. Throughout the various positions Mohammad has held as a student and staff employee, he has rightfully earned the reputation across campus as a trustworthy, caring, diligent and patient employee and friend. You can count on Mohammad to be there when there is a need - whether it be assisting customers with solving their computing issues, working with his team members on projects and problem resolutions, looking for ways to improve services, or striving to enhance diversity on the campus and in the community at large. Mohammad is totally dedicated to JMU, the JMU community, his fellow co-workers and team - it shows in his work and in his smile."
