There are two methods to access the on-campus wireless network:
On June 28th, 2009, the wireless pilot moves into production. Its new name (SSID) will be JMU-Official-Wireless. Previously, users connected to the SSID of JMU-Pilot-Wireless. Former Windows XP Professional wireless pilot users will need to use the configuration instructions below and configure it as if you are connecting for the first time. Windows Vista (Enterprise, Business) and Macintosh OS X (Leopard, Tiger) users will need to follow the configuration instructions listed below and connect to JMU-Official-Wireless.
Configuration and support for laptops running the following operating systems is available through the JMU Computing HelpDesk at 568-3555.
Windows Vista (Enterprise, Business and Ultimate)
Hand-held mobile wireless devices and phones and other operating systems are currently not supported. Access to some of the more popular wireless devices is provided "as-is" here for your convenience. Please contact your vendor for additional support as required.
