JMU On-Campus Wireless Network

How do I access JMU On-Campus Wireless Network?

  1. Make sure that you read and are complying with the following:
    JMU On-Campus Wireless Network Minimum Hardware Standards

  2. Download JMU's VPN Client (see below)

  3. View the Locations of the JMU Wireless Access Points

VPN Client

The Cisco VPN Client is required to connect to the JMU On-Campus Wireless Network. The VPN client establishes a secure connection using your JMU e-ID and password for authentication.

Accessing Network Drives

Wireless Microsoft XP users can use CIFS to access network drives (ex. N:, L:).

Troubleshooting Problems

The HelpDesk will provide over the phone installation and troubleshooting for non-JMU owned computers only. If this does not resolve the problem the HelpDesk will refer the caller to a local vendor. If the equipment is owned by JMU and cannot be fixed over the phone it can be brought into the HelpDesk and Desktop Services will configure and troubleshoot the computer for you.
