All students seeking admission to the School of Communication Studies as a major or minor must complete the following requirements:

have an overall GPA of at least 2.7 and

have a combined GPA of 2.7 in both SCOM 240 
and  SCOM 245.

 
 

Once admitted to the School of Communication Studies a student cannot retroactively apply more than 9 hours of SCOM courses, including SCOM 240 and SCOM 245, to her/his major or minor program of study.

The nine-hour limitation does not apply to students transferring from other universities.  Such transfer students may petition for SCOM credit for courses taken at previous universities
