Conflict Analysis & Intervention Internships

 

In order to earn course credit for your internship experience, you must:
Complete the prerequisites for participating in an internship
•  2.5 overall GPA
•  75 hours of course credit
•  SCOM Core Courses (C or better grades)
•  Relevant courses for internship (C or better grades)
•  Complete and submit the Intern Approval Form from Dr. Della Noce, obtain all necessary signatures and submit before you begin the internship and within deadline for adding classes for relevant semester
•  Work the required number of hours: 3 credits = 160 hours

•  Fall/Spring: 10 hours/week for 16 weeks

•  Summer: 20 hours/week for 8 weeks or 40 hours/week for 4 weeks

6 credits = 320 hours
 

   

 

 

•  Complete and submit to Dr. Della Noce on time:

•  Weekly Time Log

•  Mid-term Self Evaluation

•  Mid-term Supervisor Evaluation

•  Final Self Evaluation

•  Final Supervisor Evaluation

•  Portfolio with Analysis Paper

FINDING INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

A GUIDE FOR STUDENTS IN THE

BASIC INFORMATION

Up to 6 hours of internship credit may be applied toward completion of a degree in Communication Studies.

 To participate in an internship for academic credit, students must have:

•  GPA of at least 2.5
•  At least 75 hours of course credit
•  Successful completion (C or better) of SCOM core courses
•  Successful completion (C or better) of relevant/concentration courses

 Register for 495A, 495B or 495C, as appropriate
