Individual Events Team

The Individual Events Team is a speech team and/or forensics team. It is an academic organization sponsored by Communication Studies. The IE team travels to various universities and competes in speech related events. Each person competes individually; however, the team's rank is based upon the performance of all team members.

JMU is proud to host the James Madison Speech and Debate Institute (JSDI) for high school students from 6/20/09 to 7/3/09. Click here for more information.

The team meets every Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. in their team room in Harrison Hall on the Quad. During weeks that they will be competing, they tend to have Thursday night practice sessions.
To become a member or to find out more, e-mail either Lee Mayfield (Director) or Ken Young (Assistant Director) and let them know that you are interested. They will then be able to inform you of team meetings and upcoming  events.
