Inclement Weather Plan

In the case of inclement weather, if weather conditions appear life threatening (lightning, tornado warnings, etc.), the university’s inclement weather plan will be put in place. This will be posted on the JMU website www.jmu.edu and announced on the radio at AM 1610. JMU’s public safety department makes this decision. All ceremonies will otherwise be held in rain or shine.

The University Ceremony that is to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 will be cancelled in the inclement weather plan in enacted. A decision will be made by 12:30pm on Friday, May 9, 2014. There will be no make-up ceremony.

The individual college ceremonies on Saturday, May 10th will be moved to indoor venues and times will change. Please see the home page and click on your college for specific information. If this is the case, a decision will be made by 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
