May Graduation Checklist

Qualification for Participation

In order to participate in the May 3, 2008 commencement ceremony, a graduation application must be completed by each senior and submitted to the Office of the Registrar by March 15. Due to printing production schedules, your name may not appear in the commencement program if your application is not received by the above deadline.

	October 15, 2007	Application for degree due to department.
	November 15, 2007	Application for degree due to Office of the Registrar.
	January 15, 2008	Personalized graduation mail order information is available online at: www.herff-jones.com/college/graduation
	February 5 - 7, 2008	Order personalized Commencement announcements at the bookstore.
	March 14, 2008	No applications for degree will the accepted by the Office of the Registrar after this date.
	After April 1, 2008	Generic graduation announcements are available from the bookstore. Call the Bookstore: (540) 568-6960 or toll free: 1-800-280-7543 or order online: www.herff-jones.com/college/graduation
	April 4, 2008	Last day to resolve questions raised on Senior Evaluation from the registrar's office.
	April 7 - 10, 2008	Graduate Fair at the Bookstore: generic graduation announcements are available or order customized ones; order a class ring; pick-up a diploma frame and purchase the new, exclusive cap and gown. The new purple regalia will be available exclusively at the JMU Bookstore beginning April 7th. Bachelor sets are: $50.00
	April 28 - May 2, 2008	Pick-up your name cards from Registration Services, 3rd Floor, Warren Hall between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
	May 2, 2008	All graduation requirements, including final semester for undergraduate, masters and Ed.S., must be completed by this date.
	May 3, 2008	Students must be in proper processional line by 8:00 a.m.
	May 3, 2008	Commencement begins at 8:30 a.m.
	May 3, 2008	College ceremonies begin at 11:30 a.m.
	May 3, 2008	You're graduating. You're leaving campus.
