Encourage your students to use our services by including this statement in your syllabus or Blackboard You can download it as a Word doc or simply copy and paste from the text below. Please note: we have found that offering students bonus points for Communication Center visits results in clients who are unprepared and under motivated.
For assistance with your speech or group presentation, consider using the Communication Center, located on the 4th floor of Wilson Hall. Their peer tutors work with you while you prepare or rehearse your project. Think of them as your first audience, providing qualified feedback that helps you refine your ideas, increase your confidence and improve your delivery. The Communication Center has practice rooms, projectors and recording equipment that allows you to evaluate your progress in a simulated classroom environment. Call to make an appointment (568-1759) or visit us at www.jmu.edu/commcenter
Thank you for supporting the Communication Center!
