The Communication Center strives to provide an innovative, experiential learning environment for student employees that will benefit their coursework, contribute to their professional aspirations and facilitate their civic contributions.
Requirements for the Student Positions
2.8 cumulative GPA; 3.0 Major GPA
Must have one of the following:
- Completed SCOM 240, 242, and 245 (welcome applicants who are currently enrolled in any of the above classes who expect to pass)
- Completed SCOM 335e
- Collegiate forensic team experience
Must be able/willing to work 8-12 hours per week
Must be available until 7 pm 1 - 2 nights per week
Student Position Responsibilities- To assist client's speech preparation and delivery
- To assist clients with research and PowerPoint creation
- To assist with special events and promotions
- To monitor online schedule and write client reports
- To help identify new students speech consultants
- To operate and help maintain the Center's technical equipment
