Kenneth Gilliam is a senior in the School of Communication Studies with a focus in Organizational Communications. He is from Chesterfield, Virginia and joined the Communication Center in the fall of 2012. You may recognize Kenneth from other organizations on campus like the Centennial Scholars Program, The Order of Omega, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Kenneth’s favorite quote is “I am because someone else was.”
Nico Climaco is a sophomore in the School of Communication Studies with a concentration in Advocacy Studies, and he is pursuing a second major in Political Science. He hails from Ashburn, VA and has been working at the Communication Center since the Fall of 2012. He enjoys Slurpees, the Muppets, advocacy work, discourse, hiking, taking silly pictures, and a strong commitment of service to the JMU community! You may know Nico from: Student Ambassadors, College Democrats, and the marketing team at Aspen Heights.
Zachary Healy is a junior, double majoring in the School of Communication Studies with a concentration in Advocacy Studies and the School of Media Arts & Design with a concentration in Corporate Communications. He is from Toronto, Canada, and yes, can do the accent on command. Elsewhere around the JMU campus he can be found giving tours as a Student Ambassador or performing for JMU's speech team. In his spare time he enjoys running, photography and fighting crime.
Zach Vaught is a junior in the School of Communications with a concentration in Organizational Communication and pursuing a Business Minor. He is from Richmond, Virginia and has been working in the Communication Center since Fall 2012. He loves his friends, family, and has a desperate need to watch football all Sunday long. Zach says, "Working in the Communication Center allows me to help people and cultivate relationships in a constructive manner that proves to be extremely rewarding in the end."
Katie Lese is a sophomore in the School of Communication Studies with a minor in WRTC and has been working at the Communication Center since Fall 2011. She is from Berryville, Va- yes the one from the Wendy's commercials. Along with enjoying small towns in fast food commercials, abusing her dining dollars by feeding her Starbucks addiction, and wearing purple and gold, you can find Katie on JMU's speech team.
Lani Furbank is a sophomore in the School of Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism, and she is pursuing a minor in Environmental Studies. She is originally from Fairfax, VA and has been working at the Communication Center since Fall 2011. She loves nature, animals, her family and friends, Chipotle, and helping others. You may know Lani from the following organizations: the Society of Professional Journalists, JMU Today, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the JMU Honors Program.
Ellie Rogowski is a sophomore in the School of Health Sciences with a concentration in Public Health and a minor in Spanish. She is from Greensboro, NC and has been working at the Communication Center since Fall 2012. She loves her family, friends, coffee, traveling and JMU. You may also recognize Ellie from Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Anna McGuire is a sophomore Political Science major with a Criminal Justice minor. She is from Salem, Virginia and joined the Communication Center in Fall 2012. You may also know her from groups such as Active Minds and JMU’s National Leadership and Honors Organization Sigma Alpha Lambda. She loves coffee, loud music, shopping, going to the lake, Jeeps, and spending time with her family.
Lauren Ambrose is a sophomore Communication Studies major with a minor in Dance. She is from Virginia Beach, Virginia and is super excited to begin training at the Communication Center this Fall! She is a proud member of the JMU Speech Team, Honors Program, and soon-to-be member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Sigma Alpha Pi. She loves pigs, cupcakes, the color pink, and her betta fish, Jeffrey.
