Dr. Thelk began her career as a Mental Health Clinician and a Rehabilitation Counselor. These positions led to an interest in developing and improving instrumentation in use for these populations, resulting in the pursuit of graduate study in measurement. In her current role, she serves on the university's Assessment Advisory Council and the Institutional Review Board. In addition to her position at the College of Education, Dr. Thelk teaches statistics, research and evaluation courses at JMU and works in the community on grant evaluations, large-scale surveys, and data analysis. Interests include reading, gardening, pets, exploring, and spending time outdoors.
