Lisa Clark Schick is the director of the Integrate English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) program ESOL Career Development Academy(CDA) at James Madison University. Prior to her work in adult ESL and higher education, Lisa was a pK-12 ESL teacher for 9 years in Texas and Virginia. Since 2006, she has worked at James Madison administering and teaching with CDA; mentoring and teaching graduate and undergraduate pre-service K-12 ESL teachers in field placements and coursework; working with in-service teachers from the U.S. and abroad; and providing professional development and engagement in the US and abroad. She maintains teaching credentials in Texas (nK-8) and Virginia (pK-6, Elementary; pK-12, ESL; and pK-12 Leadership & Administration). Lisa has worked with government funded programs including the Virginia Department of Education (IELCE, 21st Century Community Learning Centers) and the US Department of State (Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs).
