Professional experience:
Kristi Peery came to James Madison University after twelve years of classroom teaching experience in Augusta County Public Schools. She served as Teacher-In-Residence for fifteen years as part of the partnership between Augusta County Public Schools and JMU. She has taught numerous courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in the Early Childhood and Elementary programs. She has also supervised students in the field experiences at all levels. She currently serves as the Grow Your Own Liaison and Coordinator of the Elementary BIS (Bachelor of Individualized Studies).

Recruiting and mentoring new teachers

Personal interests:
She enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have two children, Emma and Carter, (both Dukes), and a pup, Paisley.
