  • Ph.D. Special Education, University of North Carolina at Charlotte
  • M.A.T. Special Education, University of North Carolina at Charlotte
  • B.A. Elementary Education, Furman University

Program Involvement:

  • Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the K-12 Special Education program

Professional Experience and Interests:

  • Taught K-5 special education for students with mild disabilities
  • Served as a Curriculum Coach for Title 1 schools
  • Interests include: scaling up research-based practices in schools, instructional design for reading, math, and writing, and responsiveness to intervention

Current Research:

  • National Survey investigating K-2 general educators’ use of research-based programs for reading and math
  • Series of single-subject studies investigating effectiveness of inservice plus coaching on teachers’ use of research-based practices in reading and math
