All candidates pursuing initial teaching licensure must submit two reference forms (AR-2) as a requirement for acceptance into Teacher Education.
Reference forms must be completed by employers, clergy, teachers, or others who know you well (a minimum of 6 months) in a professional capacity and can evaluate your potential as a future educator. Remember to give your reference your JMU student ID number to put on the form.
It is not acceptable to have a student, friend, or family member complete your reference form. (Students in initial licensure programs who hold a current, valid teaching license do not have to submit references.)
Letters of reference may not be substituted for the reference forms.
A paper copy can be downloaded here, or can be picked up at the Education Support Center in Memorial Hall, Room 7230.
