Between 2001-2007 Federal law PL 107-110, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, required that all U.S. colleges and universities with teacher education programs report the pass rates of their program completers on teacher tests mandated for state licensure. Virginia requires all applicants for teacher licensure to pass the Praxis I: Pre-Professional Skills Tests in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. The Praxis II: Subject Assessments are also required for some endorsement areas.
