Elementary Education:
Master of Arts in teaching

The Elementary Education Program prepares students for licensure in preschool/kindergarten-6th grade. It is a 5-year MAT program. As undergraduates, students must major in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies (IDLS) and minor in Elementary Education (ELED).

PROGRAM SEQUENCE

ELED 310 Diversity in Elementary Education (with service learning practicum)
ELED 311 Practicum with a Focus on Learners and Learning
READ 366 Early Literacy Development & Acquisition

*Plan your IDLS courses so that you do not have to take more than 2-3 upper level courses in any semester.  Humanities and Social Science concentrators will take IDLS 400 in the senior year and all core courses should be complete before enrolling.
