The JMU Program comes with two sets of professional development materials to support teachers in their NETS▪T pursuit, as well as a course to train NETS▪T Evaluators.

Assembling Your JMU NETS▪T ePortfolio (workshop). The day-long ePortfolio Workshop assists veteran tech-savvy teachers in creating and organizing their NETS▪T portfolios in preparation for submission of evidence. It is assumed that these individuals have mastered the requisite NETS▪T skills and in many cases, already have suitable artifacts as a result of their activities in the classroom. As such, they need guidance only in assembling their portfolios. |

• |
Attaining Your JMU NETS▪T Certification (course). The semester-long NETS▪T Course provides step-by-step consideration of each rubric, highlighting the skills needed relative to each rubric, and focuses on the creation of an Individual Development Plan to guide skill acquisition. The course also provides tips on the types of artifacts required, and instruction in writing reflections. Perhaps most importantly, the course provides a supportive online community to assist teachers and ITRTs in all aspects of their NETS▪T pursuit. |

Note: The two sets of materials are included in the licensing fee. Schools/divisions are strongly encouraged to localize the materials as needed to best address their needs.* Materials for the ePortfolio Workshop are provided once the license is in place; the workshop may be conducted by anyone of the division's choosing. The NETS▪T Course must be facilitated be an educator who has successfully completed the NETS▪T Evaluator training; these materials are provided once a trained Evaluator is in place within the division. |

JMU NETS▪T Evaluator Training. The Evaluator Training is the most critical course for the overall success of the program. In order for the program to be viewed as credible, the evaluation of teacher evidence must be fair and consistent across all Evaluators. This course walks Evaluators-in-training through a series of case-based (portfolio-based) exercises in which they confirm operational definitions, consider critical attributes associated with each rubric, and rate submissions according to the respective rubrics. The Evaluators compare responses and then revisit any variance found in their responses. These semester-long courses are offered at regular intervals during the academic year. Training for up to two (2) Evaluators is included in the license fee; additional Evaluators may be trained at an additional cost. |

* JMU-trained facilitators are available for those divisions who do not wish to provide the requisite training in-house. |
