At the College of Business commencement ceremony on May 4, 2013, speaker Don Rainey ('82) issued a challenge to the graduating class: Give back. Speaking to the crowd of more than 500 business graduates, the venture capitalist and former COB Executive Advisory Board member encouraged the new alumni to begin a tradition of giving as a way to provide for future students and ensure the quality of the College of Business. As an incentive Rainey announced the 2013 COB Challenge, in which every dollar donated to the fund would be matched by 100 percent, up to $10,000 total. COB Class of 2013 members have two weeks in which to give.
“Giving back is a way to thank the professors who have invested in you. Even if you don’t do it the next 2 weeks, it is never too early or too late to thank a teacher,” Rainey said. (See related story: College of Business Alumnus Challenges Class of 2013)
