Eligibility Requirements

  • To  be  eligible  for  this  scholarship,  a student  must  be  an  incoming  freshman  who demonstrates an intention  to pursue a major in the College of Business.
  • Once a student is named a Donovan Scholar, this scholarship may be renewed for up to three consecutive years if the recipient remains a student within the College of Business and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. 
  • If either stipulation is not met, a new recipient will be selected.
  • Selection of recipients will be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Business, based on the following criteria. 
  • Recipients must: 
    • Be in-state students
    • Have a cumulative un-weighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and rank in the top 25% of their graduating high school class 
    • Demonstrate quality extracurricular experience and service in areas including, but not limited clubs, community service organizations and activities, or athletics.
    • Enroll in general Business Administration courses leading to admission to the College of Business.
  • Financial need is not a consideration in the selection of a Donovan Scholar. 
  • Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of Donovan Scholars shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
