Ken Williamson joined the College of Business faculty in January 1980. He's currently a Professor of Marketing and Program Director of the B.B.A. Core curriculum ensuring the academic integrity of that portion of the business curriculum all business majors must take.
The purpose of the B.B.A. core is to help prepare students for academic success in the major. It does this in very important part through an assurance of learning (AOL) process required by the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the accrediting body for university and college business schools.
Dr. Williamson's teaching and research interests are e-commerce and internet marketing. He has tracked the progress of these phenomena since they made their presence felt with the general public in the early 1990s. These practices are effectively mainstreamed now in the early twenty-first century in their adoption as marketing, communications, and distribution channels by both private and public sector organizations.
Dr. Williamson's research is tracking the continuing and accelerating evolution of online commercial practices and their enabling technologies as they bring the online buying experience closer to the 'bricks-and-mortar' experience, yielding a scenario combining the advantages of both contexts.
