Cathy Snyder is an instructor in the Marketing Department where she has taught MKTG 380 (Principles of Marketing for Non-business majors), MKTG 386 (Services Marketing), and MKTG 450 (B2B Marketing) in her time at JMU. She has also been an active contributor to the General Education program, having taught the GBUS 160 (Business Decision-Making in Modern Society) for over 10 years now. She serves as the Faculty Advisor to the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, as a Freshman Advisor, and as an advisor to numerous students completing coursework via the Adult Degree Program.

Prior to JMU, Cathy worked as a Loan Officer and Marketing Program Manager for South Branch Valley National Bank (now Summit Financial Group) in Moorefield,WV and as a Financial Systems Analyst for R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Harrisonburg, VA.
Additional experiences include time with the Melville Corporation and General Motors.

She received her B.S. in Business Administration from Liberty University in 1992 and her M.B.A. from James Madison University in 1997.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, Cathy lived in Florida, Maryland, and West Virginia before moving with her family to the Shenandoah Valley.
