Dr. Flaherty (University of Kentucky) is a Professor of Marketing and was recently named a Madison Scholar for excellence in scholarly achivement at James Madison University.  She is a past recipient of the Kenneth Bartee Innovation in Teaching Award from the College of Business where she teaches Principles of Marketing, Strategic Internet Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, and Information Security Ethics and Policy.  Prior to her work at JMU, she was a member of the marketing and e-commerce faculty at Old Dominion University. Dr. Flaherty has industry experience at the Rossborough Inn, JBI Customized Computer Solutions, California University of Pennsylvania's Entrepreneurial Assistance Center and Mon Valley Renaissance Program, IBM, and Service Corporation International.  

Dr. Flaherty is co-editor of the book entitled Advances in Electronic Marketing and her research has appeared in

Dr. Flaherty is the Web Manager for Marketing Education Review, Business Portal Editor for MERLOT, Editor of the Academy of Marketing Science Quarterly, and serves on the review boards of various marketing journals.  She also serves as a member of the Global Academic Panel for the Google Online Marketing Challenge.  At JMU Dr. Flaherty is the faculty co-advisor for the March of Dimes Collegiate Council, a member of the Honor Council, and a member of the Judicial Council.
