OVERVIEW
The John Dufour Memorial Scholarship Foundation memorializes the spirit of John Rene Dufour, a true leader in hospitality sales and marketing in Virginia, who passed away in 2006 at the young age of 42. John was well recognized by his peers, representing such top facilities at the Tides Inn, The Homestead, and other properties. He was well known for his engaging personality, kind manner and professionalism in serving the needs of his clients. In 2006, his friends and colleagues established the Scholarship Fund to permanently recognize John for his enduring contributions to the hospitality industry in Virginia.
The John Dufour Memorial Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to young Virginians who have an interest in a profession in the hospitality industry. The Fund is a not-for-profit organization, privately funded through individual gifts and industry fundraising events.
