Nima Maher (left), recipient of the 2009 J. Barkley Rosser, Sr. Memorial Scholarship in Economics. Joining Maher is Marina V. Rosser, professor of economics at JMU, whose husband is J. Barkley Rosser, Jr., also professor of economics at JMU. The scholarship is given in memory of Rosser, Sr., who was a leading figure in American mathematics, computer science, and space science.
Kelly Jemison (center), recipient of the 2009 Sara C. Yakovac Memorial Scholarship in Economics, is joined by her parents (left), and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yakovac (right). The scholarship is named for their daughter, a JMU economics honors graduate who was lost to leukemia in 2001.
