The Venture Creation course integrates students from all disciplines and leads them on an entrepreneurial path from idea to execution. What starts as a class project may become a funded enterprise.

Mentoring

John Rothenberger, CEO of SE Solutions and our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, provides expert advice to faculty and guides students to explore entrepreneurial career paths and to develop viable businesses. JMU alumni participate as mentors to students in the Venture Creation undergraduate class.

Our professors continue to make strides through a variety of research projects aimed at evaluating and understanding the evolving business world as it relates to entrepreneurs.

Collaboration

Madison Consulting pairs student counselors with clients, and under faculty supervision, they develop marketing plans, business plans or perform other research for local companies. The Society of Entrepreneurs provides feedback to entrepreneurs, acting as a "focus group" of young 20-somethings. Net Impact conducts energy audits for local organizations to gain experience and to provide valuable information to the property owner.
